While trying to improve your merching skills, information is one of the most important tools at your disposal. While the Internet is full of guides and other resources where RuneScape money making is concerned, offering you tips on what to buy and when, we’re strong believers in one simple proverb: give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Going by that logic, we would like to provide you with a basic overview of the best selling items on The Grand Exchange in the past week and point out why those items sold well, so that you can predict best-sellers in the future, making loads of gold in return.
One of the most popular items on the Grand Exchange is simple Coal. Seeing as it is an essential ingredient in some levels of Smithing leveling. The Smithing skill itself can be used to make armor and weapons, as well as, ore bars. It is one of the most popular skills in RuneScape, so it’s no wonder that one of the essential materials, needed to level it, Coal, is so popular.
4 spots in the top 10 of the most traded items over the past week were taken by Fire, Air, Water, and Earth runes. Fire runes were the most popular. One possible reason is that players took the opportunity to level Runecrafting because of the first May Weekend boost to Runecrafting, increasing supply. This item is always in high demand, because it can be used in great quantities to train their Magic skill, as well as casting spells, and charging items. The same is true for the other three basic elemental runes of Air, Water, and Earth.
The next popular item is Incandescent energy. Over the last six months, it was the 11th most popular item on the Grand Exchange; however, it jumped up to the sixth place over the last week. This could be attributed to the May Weekends once again, because the first one boosted the speed of Divination leveling. Incandescent energy is used when training the highest tier of Divination, so, as could have been predicted, players took the opportunity to reach higher skills in Divination easier.
The next four spots on the list of most popular items were taken up by materials, used to make arrows: Headless arrow, feather, Maple logs, and Arrow shaft, in that order. Seeing as arrows are used as ammunition in RuneScape, these items are naturally in very high demand. Of course, with players training Fletching all the time, supply isn’t lacking either.
As we can see, the most traded items on RuneScape are used for essential basics of playing the game - fighting. On the surface, it is obvious, of course; however, the appearance of Incandescent energy in the top 10 shows that week-to-week changes can influence the rankings. This will always apply. Learning to predict the items that will be demanded more than usual can help you to take care of your supply while the price isn’t affected by increased demand, making you money when the time comes.
