Every month RuneScape developers treat us with various themes. The main attraction this month is an opportunity to tag along with Meg from player-owned ports, in her efforts to be the Sherlock (or is it Sherlockette?) Holmes of Gielinor.
The problem is that she isn’t very good at her new job, so she definitely needs you to be her Dr. Watson. Who knows, you may actually become the Sherlock behind the curtain. We won’t tell her if you don’t!
This opportunity will be open until the 13th of June, so you definitely have enough time to put your detective hat on and solve some mysteries. Of course, any good detective should receive some compensation for his efforts. Jagex understands that, so you will be awarded with XP lamps, cosmetics, and other goodies.
If mystery-solving shenanigans aren’t your cup of tea, running your own ports will be even better than usual. From the 3rd of May to the 1st of June, player-owned ports will run with extra efficiency. While we’re not sure why that is, the rumor is that it has something to do with dwindling stocks of rum. Of course, your crews might just be experiencing the call of the sea too.
Whatever the case may be, this increased efficiency will reflect in your ability to run player-owned ports voyages (25 per day instead of the usual 15), +30% to normal Resources and Trade Goods, and the Surula special voyage being available on Saturdays and Sundays, as opposed to the usual state of things, when it’s only up on Thursdays.
May weekends will also help you play RuneScape more efficiently by providing you with certain bonuses each weekend. We recommend taking advantage of these boosts to make it easier to achieve your RuneScape goals.
Whether you decide to take advantage of the May Weekends’ bonuses or not, you should know that the first round of weekend boosts will start on the 6th of May at 12:00 UTC and it will be turned off on the 9th of May, at 12:00 UTC.
First of all, it will be a very good idea to take your adventures to Runespan because node spawn rates will be increased and rewards doubled. You will also be twice as likely to find relics, the Sceptre of the gods and Black Ibis gear in Pyramid Plunder. If only Indiana Jones did his stuff on May Weekends!
If that wasn’t enough, Enriched wisps will also spawn every 10 minutes instead of the usual 20, Divination springs will last twice as long, and fishing spots will move half as often, which will make farming much more fun.
If you like hunting chinchompas, this May Weekend will also be right up your alley, because base XP will be increased by 50% in the Big Chinchompa D&D. If you enjoy making your character sweat with Agility course laps, these sessions will be even more rewarding, as bonus XP will be increased by 50%.
If you’re considering making some flatpacks, you are in luck because this upcoming weekend will make it easier to carry them by tweaking your Workshop to create them in noted form. You will also be even closer to Gordon Ramsay than ever during this May Weekend, because the chance of burning food while Cooking will be reduced by 5%. Finally, if you enjoy Herblore, it will be slightly more efficient, as you will have a 2% chance to save a secondary ingredient while using the Herblore skill.
Whatever you enjoy in Gielinor, you should be able to find something to do this May. You can start your journey to being the Sherlock-behind-the-curtain, while helping Meg solve her cases. You can answer the call of the seas by taking advantage of the boosted operations in player-owned ports, or take part in different activities that will be promoted each weekend. Whatever floats your boat, hat, or fishing rod, you will find something to do.
