Slaying Overview

Posted on 2016-05-26

Do you love fighting monsters and travelling around Gielinor above all else? If you do, training the Slayer skill is for you. This skill, available to members, will also help you max out Combat as well, because they are closely linked, which totally makes sense when you know that you train Slayer by basically fighting and killing lots of monsters. When you max Slayer and Combat out, Buffy will be proud of you instead of sad as she is now, when you are a Slayer noob.

To start your Slayer journey, you will need to find a Slayer Master and buy an Enchanted Gem from him. This gem will let you interact with your chosen Slayer Master without having to go to him every time. Choosing the right Master for your skill is very important, as the amount of Slayer XP you get depends on the level of your Master. There are eight of them and all have different requirements for Combat and Slayer level. Some also require certain quests to be completed. We are providing a table to help you find the best one:

Master

Level Required

Zone

Quest Required

Turael (Spria)

1 Combat

Taverley

NONE

Mazzchna/Achtryn

20 Combat

Canifis

NONE

Vannaka

40 Combat

Edgeville Dungeon

NONE

Chaeldar

75 Combat

Zanaris

Lost City

Sumona

90 Combat

35 Slayer

Pollnivneach

Smoking Kills

Duradel (Lapalok)

100 Combat

50 Slayer

Shilo Village

Shilo Village

Kuradal

110 Combat

75 Slayer

Ancient Cavern

Barbarian Training

Morvran

120 Combat

85 Slayer

Prifddinas

Plague’s End

Note that you should get to 35 Slayer as fast as possible and then complete the Smoking Kills quest in Pollnivneach to gain access to full reward points after completing Slayer tasks. Once you have enough points, buy the Ring of Slaying, it is very good for teleporting to Slayer destinations, while functioning just as your Enchanted Gem.

So, you should find the Slayer Master that fits your Combat and Slayer levels best, go to him and ask for an assignment. You will get XP for completing them. To receive XP for slaying normal monsters, you just have to tag them by doing damage to them first, it doesn’t matter who kills them. This is different for boss slaying because you will have to be the one who dealt the most damage to it to get any XP.

That’s it for this Slayer overview post, dear Food4RS readers. We hope that you found this post useful. If you are still teetering on the edge concerning your decision on whether to go Slaying or not, we urge you to do it, as it’s very fun. Go kill some monsters, ta!
